Vipers forward out for season

Oct 30, 2023 | 10:30 AM

The Vernon Vipers have announced that forward Owen King will miss the entire BC Hockey League season due to a chronic injury that will require surgery.

The nature of the injury was not released by the team, but it’s believed to be hip-related.

“Losing Owen for the year is a tough loss for our team,” Vipers head coach and GM Jason McKee said. “He was expected to come in and be a big contributor to our group. Unfortunately, this injury is out of everyone’s control and surgery is the best option moving forward to have Owen at full health to start next season.”

King (born in 2005) has not played for the Vipers this season.
