Oct 28, 2023 | 9:00 AM

The Vernon Vipers fell to 8-4 in the BC Hockey League season after a 5-3 loss to the Penticton Vees Friday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

James Fisher, a product of Burlington, MA, led the first place Vees with a hat trick.

Czechia native Adam Csabi scored two goals for Vernon, giving him 8 goals in 12 games.

Ethan David was replaced by Colin Reay early in the second period, but returned for the third after Reay left with an upper body injury.

“We played hard tonight,” Jason McKee, Vipers head coach and GM, said. “We had lots of chances and the bounces just didn’t go our way. I’m proud of the effort.”

A crowd of 3,064 took in the game in Penticton as the Vees improved to 10-1-1-1, tied with the Surrey Eagles (11-0) for top spot in the league.

The Vipers visit the Merritt Centennials Sunday at 2 p.m., a game you can hear on 107.5 Beach Radio.
