Vipers depart BCHL Showcase with loss to unbeaten Eagles
The Vernon Vipers gave up four goals in the first period and could never recover in a 7-3 loss to the Surrey Eagles Tuesday night at the BC Hockey League Showcase in Seattle.
The Eagles improved their record to a Coastal Division-leading 9-0 as Rochester, NY product Caden Cranston led their victory with a hat trick. He leads the league with 11 goals and 18 points.
Adam Csabi, Owen Kim and Erik Pastro scored for Vernon, all coming in the third period, which closed the gap to 5-3, but that’s as close as they would get.
Ethan David stopped 18 of the 25 shots he faced in the Vipers net.
