More North Okanagan campfire bans lifted
The City of Enderby and the Shuswap River Fire Protection District consistent with the Kamloops Fire Centre, the prohibition on campfires is lifted effective at noon on Thursday September 28, 2023.
This applies to the City of Enderby and the Shuswap River Fire Protection District; unprotected areas of Area F of the Regional District of North Okanagan are subject to the Kamloops Fire Centre’s regulation.
“I would like to thank our residents and visitors for following the ban on campfires and open burning this season. With an improving forecast and decline in the fire danger rating, it is now suitable to lift the ban on campfires,” said Enderby & District Fire Chief Cliff Vetter. “Even though the ban has lifted, the public must continue to follow some simple safety precautions to prevent an accidental spread of fire.”
Chimineas and tiki torches are also now permitted.
