The B.C. Wildfire Service has reclassified the status of the Glen Lake wildfire.

The provincial wildfire service announced on X that, as of 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, the wildfire located approximately six kilometres west of Peachland was classified as being held.

In the social media post the BCWS stated the “given the more favourable conditions and reduced fire activity, this wildfire will no longer be considered a Wildfire of Note.”

The Central Okanagan Emergency Operations Centre downgraded evacuation orders and rescinded alerts for the area Monday, though the BCWS stated the Munro Lake Forest Service Road will remain closed from both ends as work on the scene continues.
