Vernon’s communications and grants manager moving on

The communications and grants manager for the City of Vernon is leaving the job after four years.

In an email to local news outlets, Christy Poirier announced she would be leaving her role and moving to Alberta “for family reasons” at the end of September.

Josh Winquist, Vernon’s communications officer, will take over Poirier’s duties until a new communications and grants manager is hired.

“My time with the city has been nothing short of incredible,” Poirier said in the email.

“Over the last four years, we’ve seen a lot of positive change and growth in the community and I am leaving with a lot of gratitude for the things I’ve learned, the things I’ve experienced, and the strong relationships that have been built.”
