The weather forecast looks like it will cooperate as the Downtown Vernon Association celebrates the 29th edition of the Sunshine Festival.

After pausing the popular event during the pandemic, the DVA is bringing back the fun-fest on Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Environment Canada is calling for sunny skies with increasing clouds on Saturday afternoon.

During the event, street parking will be free.

The extravaganza, which will showcase downtown businesses, will see six blocks of 30th Avenue closed off to vehicles to allow for live music and entertainment.

There will be a Food Zone with food trucks and picnic tables, and a Kids Zone with games and activities, a reptile show, an illusionist and face painting.

The DVA added there will be a surprise at noon and advises people “look up” at that time.

Main Stage Schedule:

10 am: Total Gadjos
11 am: Rollin’ Coal Trio
12 pm: Conroy Ross & Rhythm Collision
