Detour on Vernon street for city project

Motorists will have to use a detour on part of 27th Avenue this week to allow city crews to upgrade storm infrastructure.

“Starting as early as 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 27th Avenue will be closed between 37 and 39 Streets. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find an alternative travel route,” a city news release stated

Local traffic will still be able to access businesses and residences in the area.

The work is expected to be completed by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1.

“Some travel delays should be expected; however, every effort will be made to minimize disruptions,” the city said.
