Chamber raises funds for charities and UBCO Heat

The Kelowna Chamber helped raise more than $3,500 for good causes, and delivered a sunny day to 144 golfers, 24 sponsors and media sponsors at its 38th annual golf tournament.

Dan Price, president of the Chamber, welcomed golfers at the event May 24.

“It was another great day, another opportunity for Chamber members to unwind their swings and meet some new business connections. We’re very appreciative to Parke Pacific and all our sponsors this year,” Price said.

Title sponsor Parke Pacific Projects fundraised for the Agnes Parke Memorial Society, in aid of Parkinson’s Disease Research. Also benefiting from golfers’ support were the Kelowna Gospel Mission (50/50 draw) and UBC Okanagan Heat Golf Program.

“The Chamber and its members do so much in and for our community. Their generosity helps support our UBCO Heat golf program, ignites the spirit of sportsmanship, nurtures talent, and helps foster the dreams of some of our highest calibre student-athletes,” Tom Huisman, director of athletics and recreation at UBC Okanagan, said.
