Fire in Kal Lake Park under investigation
The B.C. Wildfire Service is investigating a brush fire in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park in Coldstream that is considered suspicious.
The Coldstream Fire Department and B.C. Wildfire responded to the area of the park’s red gate off Kidston Road just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, after getting multiple reports of a fire.
An area of 40 by 60 feet was burned.
“Coldstream firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and remaining hot spots,” Fire Chief Fiona Morgenthaler-Code told Vernon Matters.
