Armstrong Regional Co-op (ARC) members will soon have an additional fueling option in Vernon and elsewhere.

The 32nd Street Husky station is undergoing signage changes, and will be closed for about a week, while the process takes place.

In 2022, ARC purchased three Husky stations including the Vernon station, one in Cranbrook and a Husky in Salmon Arm. Those two outlets will be changed to Co-op branding the week of March 27 and April 3 respectively.

“We’re excited to bring new Co-op locations, along with the products and service Co-ops are known for, to these community locations. We’ll be hosting grand openings in May and June and we look forward to welcoming our community members to join us in celebrating the new sites,” the ARC board of directors said in a statement.

Members will be able to use their ARC number at the new location and earn patronage and equity on purchases.

Once the sites are converted to Co-op, Husky’s myHuskyRewards will no longer be collected or used as a form of payment and Husky gift cards will no longer be accepted.

In November 2021, Federated Co-operatives Limited, on behalf of local Co-ops in the Co-operative Retailing System, announced an investment of $264 million to purchase 181 Husky retail fuel sites from certain wholly-owned subsidiaries of Cenovus Energy Inc. This represents the largest retail acquisition in Co-op’s history.

Armstrong Regional Co-operative currently operates gas bars in Armstrong, Vernon, Salmon Arm, gas cardlocks in Armstrong, Canoe and Scotch Creek. and ARC Liquor outlets in Vernon and Kelowna.
