Don’t Bee caught with water problems this spring
March is the month we start to see the North Okanagan warm up, which is a welcome change from winter but also a potential issue with water in your home.
“With higher water levels in the spring we tend to see more plumbing back-ups this time of year, if this sounds like a concern for you we recommend a plumbing inspection. This can identify areas of concern from frozen hose bibs, outdated components such as poly-B pipes or blockages in the drain system such as tree roots,” Bee’s Knees Plumbing, Heating and Electrical Owner Kevin Ukkonen said.
Blockages and backups sound like major issues, but there are things that can be done.
“We are well equipped to clean or clear drains with our equipment, this generally starts with a camera inspection where we can identify and show the homeowner the issue, from there we can clear the drain with a power auger or depending on the circumstance use our high pressure Jetting equipment to flush the lines. We have both sets of equipment on hand and will determine the best option for each situation,” Ukkonen stated.
Another potential problem when things start to thaw out are hose bibs.
“You go to hook your hose up in the spring, and if the bib/tap freezes over the winter you can get water leaking into your home. Sometimes it is just a slow leak, but it can cause a lot of damage if left unattended to,” Ukkonen added
