Fun for all: Carnival concert, fireworks entertain crowds

All in all, it was a pretty fabulous Friday night in Vernon.

On the final weekend of Vernon Winter Carnival, several thousand people were on hand for Carnival’s Snowglobe concert featuring The Reklaws at Kal Tire Place.

At last update, more than 2,600 tickets had been sold for the event, the first concert at the venue in five years.

Social media comments on the Winter Carnival’s Facebook page suggested Jenna and Stuart Walker, the sister-brother duo that is The Reklaws from Ontario, put on a great show.

Here is a sample of the comments;

“It was a fabulous time.” “It was such an awesome concert!!” “Our kiddos loved it!” and “Nice work Vernon Winter Carnival Society.”

The fireworks at nearby Kin Race Track Park Friday evening also drew praise.

“Good job, they were awesome!!,” said one person.

The 63rd annual Winter Carnival, featuring the popular theme Carnival TV, wraps up Sunday Feb. 12.
