Wireless tower site in Coldstream rejected

Coldstream council has rejected a proposed site for a wireless telecommunications tower in the 6600 block of Buchanan Road.

Mayor Ruth Hoyte said council feels that site is not suitable.

“Council wanted more information, and they felt it was very close to the road and very viewable, even though there would be landscaping around it. It’s a little unsightly, and it might be better positioned further up the hill,” Hoyte told Vernon Matters.

Council’s non-support will be forwarded to Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada for review.

“And they’ll come back to us with an alternative suggestion [location],” Hoyte added
