A watchdog agency says a Vernon chiropractor accused of sexual assault, has been using a third person in the room while treating female patients, since the charges surfaced.

“On Jan. 27, 2022, Dr. Kievit voluntarily entered into an undertaking with the College to not engage in consultation with, or examination or treatment of, any female patient unless there is a chaperone present throughout that consultation, examination or treatment”, Michelle Da Roza, registrar, said.

De Roza added the undertaking will remain in effect until the complaint is resolved.

Kievit, who works at the White House Wellness Centre in Vernon, is charged with two counts of sexual assault against a single complainant following incidents alleged to have occurred on Dec. 7 and 9, 2021.

His case returns to provincial court in Vernon March 10 for a pre-trial conference.
