North Okanagan residents have shown their support for the BOB Awards in record numbers.

Vernon Matters‘ 2023 edition of the awards was the biggest yet, with over 4,000 nominations and 200,000 votes.

The third annual BOBs (Best of the Best), sponsored by Okanagan Restoration Services, featured about 200 different categories, celebrating the best in entertainment, food and drink, health, beauty and style, local goodness, shopping and services and sports and recreation.

Bryan Ford, general sales manager of Pattison Media in the Okanagan, said this year’s BOB awards were an outstanding success.

“Remember, the BOB awards are a readers’ choice award. There really is no criteria, other than nominating and voting for your favourite people, places and things. That’s what makes it so special, and why I believe so many votes are cast every year,” Ford said.

“This is a great way to showcase Vernon’s best of the best. Many people use the BOB awards as a reference point for where to shop, and what to do around town,” Ford added.
