One Vernon restaurant is taking a bite out of its competition when it comes to burgers.

The Roster Sports Club Bar & Grill has won the Golden Burger Challenge for a second straight year with its Stampeders Burger.

“The great news is we have decided to put the Stampeders Burger permanently on the menu,” said a posting from The Roster on Facebook.

The winning burger features a house-made beef patty with sweet and savoury bacon jam, pimento cheese, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, jalapeno aioli on a toasted Brioche bun.

Last year, The Roster won for its Smash Burger.

The challenge is a fundraiser for the North Okanagan Community Life Society which raised $24,000 from the month-long event in October that saw $5 from each burger sold at participating restaurants, go to the charity.
