Oct 7, 2022 | 3:20 PM

There has been a lot of activity at Vernon’s new Cactus Club Café, but it isn’t quit ready for the public yet.

A spokesperson tells Vernon Matters that the frenzy of activity around the restaurant the past few days has been training runs with invited guests and if all goes well the restaurant and lounge should be open later this week.

Extensive renovations have taken place to the former  Temptasian Restaurant on Anderson Way. The kitchen features the latest technology including self-cleaning deep fryers and technology forward ovens.

The 7,500 square foot facility features a year-round patio for 50 guests, a lounge for 75 and a dining room with 150 seats. There will be an additional parking lot patio for the busy summer months.

The company hired close to 200 full and part-time staff, with parking at a premium. Staff were parking on vacant land along Anderson Way to leave parking for patrons vehicles.

This is the third Cactus Club in the Okanagan, with two in Kelowna and the 30 th location in Western Canada.
