Vernon Ski Swap set for Oct. 22

Oct 5, 2022 | 8:00 AM

The Interior’s largest ski swap is just a little over two weeks away.

The Vernon Ski Swap is organized by the Vernon Ski Club and is the group’s biggest annual fundraiser.

It will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 with the public sale from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Vernon Rec Centre at 3310 37th Ave.

The consignment drop off for people wanting to sell items will be the day before, Friday, Oct. 21 from 3:30 – 7:00 p.m.

There is a $2 consignment ticket that must be purchased for each item that you want sold, with only cash accepted for that.

If your equipment sells, the ski club collects a 20 per cent commission on the sale price.

The organizers will accept alpine and cross country skis, snowboards, boots and poles, but does NOT accept equipment that has been poorly maintained or is a potential safety hazard.

Helmets and older model straight (alpine) skis are not accepted

The pay-out runs from 12:30 until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 22.

Sellers can check back at the auditorium any time after 12:30 to see if their equipment has sold, and if it doesn’t sell, it can be picked up any time before 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Items can be purchased using Visa, Mastercard, Interac and cash.

Anyone looking to volunteer for the event, can email ssvscvolunteer@gmail.com.
