Precautionary Notice

Grindrod residents under boil water notice

Sep 28, 2022 | 5:00 PM

A precautionary boil water notice has been issued in Grindrod.

The Regional District of North Okanagan and Interior Health issued the notice for customers supplied by the Grindrod Water Utility Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The RDNO said samples from the water distribution system show total coliform bacteria counts above the recommended level, and advises people be cautious when consuming water.

It’s advised that water be brought to a full, roiling boil for at least one minute before being used to prepare food, drinks or ice; drinking; washing fruit or vegetables; and brushing teeth.

The precautionary notice will remain in effect until sampling results determine whether or not the water is safe to drink, at which point the RDNO will either rescind the notice or put a full boil water advisory in place.
