Votes can now be cast for the 2022 People’s Choice business awards.

As part of the 28th Annual Business Excellence Awards, the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is accepting votes from the public for their favorite local business and non-profits.

“Residents are very clear that they support local and the People’s Choice Award gives them a chance to recognize a business or non-profit,” Greater Vernon Chamber General Manager Dan Proulx said.

“Nominees also play a significant role as they can encourage their customers, employees, family and friends to vote to increase their opportunity of being named the People’s Choice.”

The Chamber will hand out two People’s Choice awards this year.

The awards also double as a fundraiser for the Vernon and District branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA Vernon), with 100 per cent of funds raised going to the organization.

“The need for mental health services and awareness is increasing for those in business and our community. This was certainly highlighted throughout the pandemic and it continues to be a challenge. We want to thank those who vote and support CMHA Vernon in its efforts to provide services for those struggling with mental health issues,” Proulx said.

People can vote multiple times for the People’s Choice awards, with bulk voting available for purchase to support the fundraiser.

The winners will be announced at the Business Excellence Awards ceremony at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre on November 3.

Voting is open online until October 11.
