The Vernon Vipers ended the BC Hockey League’s exhibition season with three wins and three losses after falling 5-3 to the Penticton Vees on Friday.

A crowd of 458 fans was on hand for the game at Kal Tire Place.

The Vees, who swept the Nanaimo Clippers in four games to win the BCHL championship/Fred Page Cup last season, scored three straight goals in the third period to erase a 3-2 Vipers lead.

Frank Djurasevic, a native of New Rochelle, New York, led the Vees with one goal and two assists.

Reagan Milburn, a Kamloops product, had a goal and one helper to lead Vernon who were outshot 40-25.

The Vipers open the BCHL’s 61st season Friday, Sept. 23 in Salmon Arm, a game you can hear on 107.5 Beach Radio and Vernon Matters, before hosting the Silverbacks Saturday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m.
