The City of West Kelowna will be providing the public with information on the final phase of building the Rose Valley Water Treatment Plant (RVWTP) before work begins in late September.

The City of West Kelowna said progress is being made, and that the final stage involves the installation of water transmission mains in the Sunnyside and West Kelowna Estate areas.

Before the final construction work begins, the city wants to engage with the public to allow citizens to meet the project team, view display boards, learn about the progress of the RVWTP, and find out more about the schedule and construction activities.

They’ll host public information sessions at Lakeview Heights Baptist Church, 2630 Alhambra Drive on Thursday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m.

Community engagement kits on the RVWTP will also be available at City Hall upon request, and a virtual information session will be held online.

It was noted that the RVWTP is the single largest construction project undertaken by the City of West Kelowna.

Once operational in 2023, the plant will provide over 18,000 residents with safe, clean drinking water.
