RCMP seek tips on armed robbery suspect

Police in Salmon Arm are seeking assistance identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery.

Mounties responded to the armed robbery call at around 7:30 p.m. on August 25.

The victim had picked up a man, who he had met for a short time on a prior occasion, after being asked for a ride to a local store.

A short time later, the suspect asked the victim driver to stop, then threatened the driver with a weapon and demanded money,

After taking the victim’s wallet and car keys, the suspect fled the area.

The driver suffered no injuries and his vehicle was not taken during the incident.

The suspect, who is described as being in his 30s with short black hair, was captured on closed circuit video.

The RCMP have released images of the man in hopes someone can identify him.
