The Township of Spallumcheen has fully reopened Stepney Road.

The road was temporarily closed June 15 due to localized flooding, then reopened just to local traffic on June 16.

The township stated that conditions have continued to improve and as of Monday, June 20, the road has fully reopened to all traffic.

A sandbagging station has been established at the intersection of Stepney Cross Road and Stepney Road North to serve residents in the area. There is also a sandbagging station at the Township Public Works shop on Eagle Rock Road. Residents utilizing either of these sites will need to bring their own shovel to fill the bags.

The southern portion of Spallumcheen is also no longer on a stream flow advisory, though the north portion is still under a flood watch.

The creeks and culverts are flowing normally, and crews will continue to monitor those twice daily.

The Townships’ Emergency Operations Centre continues to operate at Level 1 due to localized flooding.
