Sicamous mobile homes under evacuation alert yet again

Jun 13, 2022 | 5:30 PM

The Sicamous Creek Mobile Home Park has once again been put on evacuation alert due to the threat of a landslide coming from nearby Wiseman Creek.

Residents of units Number 1 through 27 are advised to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.

The Shuswap region is expecting persistent rainfall over the first few days of the week. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement to that effect.

The area around Wiseman Creek and above the Sicamous Creek Mobile Home Park was damaged by wildfire in 2021. This is the third evacuation alert issued for the mobile home park so far this spring.
