A social service agency in Vernon has created a new positon to help with fundraising and communications.

North Okanagan Youth and Family Services Society (NOYFSS) has announced that Vicki Proulx will be joining the organization as the new fund development and communications coordinator.

NOYFSS said the newly created position will allow it to continue to expand and promote programs within the agency as well as ensure community supporters and partners are receiving the recognition they deserve.

Proulx has been working with non-profits in the Vernon area for over 10 years [including the Vernon Winter Carnival Society], specializing in community outreach and engagement.

Dean Francks, executive director of NOYFSS, said Proulx’s experience in media, event planning and communications are a welcome resource to their team.

“We look forward to having someone so skilled and connected with the community helping us raise funds for non-funded skill building and educational groups. Vicki’s energy will also be a great asset in helping us maintain our positive agency profile and letting the community know about all of the programs and services offered through NOYFSS,” said Francks.

NOYFSS provides a broad range of programs to help strengthen families through healthy relationships.

Proulx tells Vernon Matters she is also staying with Winter Carnival in her role as executive director, splitting her time between the two organizations.
