New pub to open in Vernon

A new eating and socializing spot will be opening soon in Vernon’s Okanagan Landing.

The 1516 Pub & Grill will be located at 7673 Okanagan Landing Road in the former Outboard Waterfront Pub site.

The new venture is owned by the Vernon-based Dahl Group of Companies, and will open in May.

Ronnie Yamada is the general manager.

The business will also serve as the new home of Vernon Catering & Hospitality.

“In addition to the pub and our great new menu created by our very talented chef, we will have a wedding centre complete with a tasting facility and area for brides to plan their weddings. Our new location will also be available for event and wedding rentals,” said Natasha Krystolovich, administrative assistant to the President and CEO of The Dahl Group of Companies.

Krystolovich told Vernon Matters the catering and hospitality business has been operating out of their office on Kalamalka Road and from the two kitchens at Wings and The Italian Kitchen to date.

The company also owns Wings Vernon, The Italian Kitchen and Top Choice Pizza.

“This is an incredible and exciting time for all of us in the restaurant group,” said Sherman Dahl, president. “Adding 1516 Pub and Grill to our portfolio is huge.  I have been a fan of the original Blue Heron location since it was started by Doug Gee and Rick Reichelt many years ago. Doug and Rick were great operators of that location.  We will do our best to make them proud!”
