Kamloops lawyer arrested in connection with suspicious death probe

A Kamloops lawyer has been arrested in connection to a suspicious death last week.

RCMP say they were called to the 1600-block of Monterey Place Thursday evening (Mar. 17), finding a person dead inside a vehicle. Police later released a photo of a van connected to the incident.

Rogelio Butch Bagabuyo, 53, is now charged with interference with a dead body.

RCMP confirm the charge is in relation to the Monterey Place investigation, though the offence date is listed as March 16, a day before RCMP were alerted to the body.

Bagabuyo had a bail hearing scheduled for Monday morning.
