Vipers win fourth straight in first of 7 road games

The Vernon Vipers blitzed the Merritt Centennials with 61 shots on net and came away with a 4-3 win in a shootout in the Coquihalla city.

Anthony Cliche, Luke Buss and Ayden Third scored for Vernon in regulation time on a night when Merritt goalie John Hicks was named the game’s first star, making 58 saves.

Ethan David made 30 stops for the Vipers who have won four games in a row.

In the shootout, the Vipers got goals from Zack Tonelli and Cam MacDonald while David stopped both Merritt shooters.
