Vipers snuff out Smoke Eaters in shootout

The Vernon Vipers picked up their second straight win thanks to a strong goaltending performance, 2-1 over the Trail Smoke Eaters in a shootout Wednesday night.

Roan Clarke made 35 saves in net to help the Vipers get their ninth win of the season before 1,104 fans at Kal Tire Place.

Luke Buss had a powerplay goal for Vernon while Zack Tonelli and Cam MacDonald scored in the shootout for the win.
