Vipers and Cents hook-up for five player deal

The Vernon Vipers have shaken-up their roster after completing a five-player trade with the Merritt Centennials.

Coming to Vernon are defenceman Talon Zakall (born in 2002) and forward Luke Lavery (2004) while centre Nick Remissong, defencemen Braden Smith and Desmond Johnson and future considerations are off to Merritt..

Zakall, who is from Merritt, has spent the last three seasons with the Centennials and has compiled 14 goals and 46 assists in 134 career regular season games. Zakall has a commitment to Dartmouth.

Lavery, from Nanaimo, spent last season with the Nanaimo Clippers. He had 3 goals and 8 assists in 20 games during the Pod season. He’s only played in three games so far this season. Lavery has a commitment to Providence College.
