BCHL postpones games due to Merritt flooding and road closures

Due to flooding in Merritt and in the Fraser Valley and the closures of major highways throughout the province, the BC Hockey League has made changes to its upcoming schedule.

Eight games this weekend will be postponed, while another two regional games will be added to the schedule.

The league will provide an update on the status of the postponed games as well as any other potential schedule changes in the coming days.

BCHL to decide on Vipers upcoming game in Merritt

The status of the Vernon Vipers’ scheduled game in flood-ravaged Merritt on Friday, Nov. 19, is still uncertain.

Vipers vice president Todd Miller said they are still awaiting word from the BC Hockey League.

Vernon Matters contacted the BCHL for an update.

“We are still working out some logistics and will have an announcement by tomorrow morning (Thursday) at the latest,” said Jesse Adamson, manager of communications & events.

The Vipers will host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks tonight at Kal Tire Place.
