Vipers lose goalie’s duel in shootout

A low-scoring affair at the Weyerhauser Arena saw the Alberni Valley Bulldogs edge the Vernon Vipers 1-0 in a shootout on Saturday night.

The goalies were the stars of the game with Hobie Hedquist making 30 saves in the Bulldogs net and Ethan David stopping 21 for the Vipers.

Alberni Valley outscored the Snakes 3-2 in the shootout.

Vernon concludes its Island road trip with a stop in Cowichan Valley to play the Capitals Sunday at 2:00 p.m., with the pre game show on Beach Radio with Graham Turnbull at 1:45.
