Cameron MacDonald has earned the top spot in the BCHL’s three Stars of the Week.

The Vernon Viper forward led all scorers at the Showcase event with five points in two games.

He found the back of the net in the first-period to open the scoring against the Chilliwack Chiefs on Saturday night. MacDonald followed that up with an assist in the second, helping the Vipers secure a 4-1 victory and earning the first star of the game in the process.

The Vipers were back on the ice Sunday morning where they faced off against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs, and again the three-year BCHL veteran was there to make sure scouts noticed him. MacDonald scored once and assisted in the Vipers’ two other goals as they beat the Bulldogs 3-0. He earned the second star of the game spot in the win.

Through five contests, MacDonald has 10 points, and is tied for third in the league for scoring.

The BCHL’s other two stars of the week are Adam Jeffery of the Cowichan Valley Capitals, and Johnny Johnson of the Cranbrook Bucks.

Vernon Vipers goalie Ethan David also earned an honourable mention this week after recording a shutout.
