Vernon set to host OKToblerfest

You’ve heard of Octoberfest — and now Vernon will have it’s own version called OKToblerfest.

OKToblerfest 2021 will be held from Thurday Oct. 7 to Sunday Oct. 10, 2021 and hosted by Stefan Tobler, the brewmaster at Vernon’s very own Okanagan Spring Brewery and Katie Dahl, the owner of Wings Vernon.

“Wings Vernon is already getting very good interest in this event, said Dahl. “So get your name down.Tickets will be available for pick up on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Wings Vernon with Shay, restaurant manager.”

A VIP pass and limited tickets is $75 each for all events.

Katie Dahl, owner of Wings Vernon, provided this update:

“The phone has been ringing for sure. That is always a nice surprise.  I guess it makes sense, OSB has been in Vernon a long time and the founding family all lives here as well.  All three of the Tobler boys work there to this day.  It really is an amazing local story If we reflect on things in Vernon you will realize there are some incredible business successes right here in Vernon, BC. It is hard to know to where to even start.  Kal Tire and Tom Foord, Okanagan Spring and Jakob Tobler, DCT Chambers and Art Chambers , Riverside Forest Products and the Gord Steele and Gerald Raboch  – that is just a few of the big ones.  Vernon is an interesting place – someone should write a book about all the business success.   No wonder we are not as “fancy pants” as Kelowna – everyone has been too busy building nation size companies like Kal Tire and Okanagan Spring Brewery!”

“Naturally,  OKToblerfest in Vernon should be sold out, now should it not?   Not to mention – the German community in the Okanagan is vibrant and always has been.  There used to be some great Oktoberfest parties in Vernon area – now get ready for OKToblerfest,” Dahl said.

Dahl also pointed out that “the VIP tour of the brewery for VIP holders is now tentative pending COVID rules at OSB.

“We are talking to Stefan about it. We can always do a virtual tour. We will figure something out for sure.”

Tickets will be available for pick up on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 4 pm at Wings Vernon with Shay, restaurant manager.
