BOWSER — A homicide investigation is in its early stages after someone found injured in a Bowser home passed away.

The person was found in a home in the 5000 block of Thompson Clark Drive West in Bowser just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

A release from Sgt. Chris Manseau said “a person suffering from serious injuries” was treated by BC Ambulance and fire crews but died of their injuries.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit was called in to investigate.

“While we are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation, police believe this was an isolated incident, one a person is in custody and there is no on-going risk to the general public,” Manseau said.

Police aren’t releasing the name of the deceased individual.
