Sparks Lake wildfire grows to 750 hectares; nine properties evacuated

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued an evacuation order for nine properties adjacent to the Sparks Lake wildfire.

In an order issued Tuesday afternoon (June 29), occupants of the following properties are ordered to leave immediately:

  • 8092 Tranquille-Criss Creek Rd
  • 8088 Tranquille-Criss Creek Rd
  • 4000 Leblond Rd
  • 7900 Seven Lakes Rd
  • 8185 Seven Lakes Rd
  • 7750 Tranquille-Criss Creek Rd
  • 7645 Tranquille-Criss Creek Rd
  • 7560 Tranquille-Criss Creek Rd
  • 7501 Tranquille-Criss Creek Rd

Occupants are asked to report to the TNRD at McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre in Kamloops, remaining in or near the vehicle in which you arrive.

Meantime, the B.C. Wildfire Service has updated the size of the Sparks Lake wildfire to 750 hectares as of Tuesday afternoon.

The fire is burning out of control north of Kamloops Lake, near Red Lake.
