New wildfires in Okanagan

Jun 25, 2021 | 12:20 PM

The B.C. Wildfire Service says several new blazes have broken out with the temperature rising, and the fire danger rating high in most areas.

Two of the new fires are in the South Okanagan. One west of Okanagan Falls near Park Hill is listed at 47 hectares, with the cause undetermined.

The other, near Shuttle Creek north of Keremeos, is 0.01 hectares.

A four hectare fire, suspected to have been human-caused, has closed a forest service road leading to Sasquatch Provincial Park on the east side of Harrison Lake in the Fraser Valley.
