Vipers wrap up pod season with win over Warriors

The short BC Hockey League season wrapped up for the Vernon Vipers Sunday.

Taking on the West Kelowna Warriors, the Vipers won 4-3 at Kal Tire Place.

Tyler Carpendale, Hunter Donohoe, Reagan Milburn and Sam Duerr scored for Vernon who built up a 3-0 lead in the second period.

James Porter Jr. made 19 saves for the win in net.

Vernon’s record in the pod, which also included Salmon Arm, was 13-5-1-1 which gave them the best record of the three teams.

Ryan Shostak led Vernon in scoring over the 20 game season with 5 goals, 13 assists for 18 points, with Tyler Carpendale second with a team leading 9 goals, 8 assists for 17 points.

The Vipers are wishing the best to their outgoing 20 year olds, Tyler Carpendale, James Porter Jr., Seth Bafaro and Hunter Donohoe, and thanking them for all their hard work this season.
