Plans to hold the Boyd Autobody & Glass Father’s Day Charity Car Show in Kelowna have hit a roadblock, and won’t be able to proceed in 2021.

Earlier this year, the organizers announced they had adapted the traditional car show in City Park, that normally attracts tens of thousands of car enthusiasts from all around the region, to a car cruise that would take the show out to the community and through a livestream, provide a safe viewing experience for car enthusiasts and families – all while still raising funds for the Child Advocacy Centre of Kelowna.

Unfortunately, as health restrictions on gatherings continue, they are now unable to present the Father’s Day Car Show or Car Cruise as planned and are now focusing all of their efforts on ensuring The Child Advocacy Centre Car Raffle is a huge success.

This year a ‘modern-day muscle car,’ a 2010 Chevy Camaro 2LT, will be driven home by one lucky winner on June 20. The raffle is made possible by Boyd Autobody & Glass who donated this year’s prize car and additional sponsors who have customized it, including Elite Auto Centre, Andre’s Electronics Experts, Budget Brake and Muffler, Sign Craft, CIC OK Tire, Lordco Auto Parts and PPG.

“While the car show has always provided a great family outing for Father’s Day, we understand that now is not the time to be doing anything that encourages people to travel or gather,” said Methal Abougoush, General Manager of Boyd Autobody & Glass Kelowna. “We will be back next year bigger and better than ever. But in the meantime, we are glad we can still support the CAC and help make a difference for the kids who need their help.”

Through the support of sponsors, volunteers and associates over the last two years, Boyd has contributed over $85,000 to the Child Advocacy Centre. Boyd Autobody and Glass’ partnership with the CAC continues despite event restrictions and your support helps change the lives of vulnerable children in our own community.

Raffle tickets are $25 for one and $100 for five. Purchase your tickets now at cackelowna.rafflenexus.com or CACkelowna.com where you can also learn more about the prize car’s specifications and modifications.

Proceeds from the raffle go to the Child Advocacy Centre who provide a place where children impacted by abuse and neglect can be safe, nurtured and believed.

Deadline to purchase tickets is 12:00 p.m. on June 20, 2021 or while supplies last. Draw for the raffle is 1:00 p.m. on June 20, 2021.
