Effort launched to halt single-use propane tank purchase
The Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) has launched a program to try get residents to stop buying one pound single-use propane bottles.
The cylinders are commonly used with table top camping stoves and other propane powered appliances.
“Propane in single-use cylinders can cost five times more than propane in refillable propane tanks. With the Propane Tank Adapter Hose Rebate, you can start saving money after just a couple of refills,” Ashley Gregerson, RDNO Communications Officer stats in a media release.
As an incentive to avoid the non-reusable propane cylinders, the RDNO is offering residents a rebate of up to $25 on the purchase of a propane tank adapter hose from a local retailer.
