Vernon Fire Department deals with spot fires

The Vernon Fire Rescue Service was called out overnight to a couple of small fires.

Vernon Firefighters local 1517 posted photo’s and a short note on their Facebook page.

“A busy night with these dry conditions, a small grass fire and a shopping cart/power pole fire. All were quickly extinguished with no damage done to personal property,” The post said.

The fire department also contacted the Downtown Vernon Association (DVA).

The DVA emailed its members Thursday to remind them to be vigilant, and not leave any flammable materials outside of their businesses.
