The $1.3 million dollar upgrade to WestKal Road in Coldstream is going to add some additional safety features for users of the Okanagan Rail Trail.
As part of the paving and drainage work, diagonal parking and a roundabout will be constructed at the south end of the road.
“What we are going do do on the east side is put a drop-off area, so vehicles can safely unload, and then we will have a crosswalk to get to the trail,” Coldstream Mayor Jim Garlick said.
The construction, which is currently out to tender, could see disruptions this summer for residents and rail trail users as access will be pushed back to Kalamalka Road during the project.
