Fundraiser for baby Cyrus and family

A Go Fund me campaign has been started to raise money for the family of a former Okanagan toddler with a serious medical condition.

Three and a half year old baby Cyrus was born with Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease (PMD), a rare X-linked genetic disorder affecting the central nervous system that is associated with abnormalities of the white matter of the brain and spinal cord.

He has recently developed an inoperable brain bleed due to his shrinking brain. Unfortunately the recent decision has been made for Cyrus to live out the few weeks he has remaining (unless he is miraculously healed) at home. Cyrus’s mom has three children and is a single mom.

“This is a lot for anyone much less a single mother without financial support. We are raising funds for the extra expenses Shayla Rose-Marie Boyo (mom) encountered caring for her son, her two other young children and expected funeral expenses in the near future. Please offer your support,” family friend Shelley Chupik stated. “Even $5 will go a long way with this precious family. Prayers are also needed at this time. Thank you for your support and loving kindness in advance.”
