Westkal Road drainage work and paving approved
Coldstream council has voted to spend $1,375,000, including a 40 per cent contingency, to repave from Kickwillie Loop Road to the south end of Westkal Road and improve drainage.
The breakdown is $750,000 for road works and $625,000 for drainage works. Council had already approved the drainage component of the project.
“The project should go to tender in four to six weeks, and if we can get it done before the summer season we will. If not, it will be pushed to the fall,” Coldstream chief administrative officer Trevor Seibel told council.
The project will see the removal of the asphalt and underlying materials, which, because of the makeup, will be less expensive than re-milling the existing pavement.
