Several properties have water, and other damage, after a water main break in Vernon this morning.
It happened around 10 this morning in the 4200 block of 34th Street (just south of Vernon Square Mall), where city crews have been conducting sanitary sewer upgrades.
“The City of Vernon would like to advise the public that utility crews are repairing a water main break that has occurred on 34th Street, between 42nd and 43rd Avenues,” Christy Poirier, manager of communications, told Vernon Matters.
Poirier said water service has been interrupted for about 20 properties in the area. Crews anticipate the repairs will take 2 to 3 hours to complete.
“The city apologizes for any inconvenience this interruption may cause and appreciates the public’s patience as repairs are made to the site,” Poirier said.
