Organizer of COVID-19 rally issued $2,300 fine
A protest over COVID-19 measures has resulted in the event organizer being fined for violating public health orders.
The protest and march was held Saturday (Dec.12) in the downtown area of Kelowna.
RCMP said their officers were on hand to ensure the safety of the protesters and the rest of the public.
“This was a march that crossed several busy downtown core roadways and our police officers were on hand to maintain the peace and help to prevent any confrontations between those actively participating in the demonstration and both the motoring public and area residents,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, Kelowna RCMP spokesperson.
