Turtle Mountain neighborhood expansion advanced

Vernon council has taken the first steps at amending the official community plan to expand the Turtle Mountain neighborhood by nearly 35 acres.

3398 Davison Road would be rezoned from public institutional, parks and open space, ALR lands and hillside residential, to hillside residential and parks and open space.

The property currently has one dwelling and some agriculture outbuildings.

The rezoning would be subject to several conditions including the successful sale of nearly four acres of land that would be dedicated as parkland. There is also provision for a linear park along the Grey Canal, which would extend the trail.
