Walmart expands click and pick parking

As the second wave of COVID-19 starts to make shoppers more wary of large crowded stores, Vernon’s Wal-Mart is taking steps to expand its parking spots designated for online shopping pick-up.

The mega retailer applied to the city for a variance which would allow eight additional pickup signs placed on parking stalls at the store, anticipating and increased demand for the service.

“I have seen these signs all over at other retailers. What is different with this?” Coun. Akbal Mund inquired.

“Calloway REIT (Vernon) lnc., the owner of the mall, wanted to do everything properly,” Craig Broderick, Manager Current Planning, said. “Not everyone is following the proper process.”
